Summer Grading
Marist Hockey is committed to an open and fair process for the selection of teams and the identification of development players. Indoor hockey grading will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday 20 September 2023 (further details to follow closer to the date).
Grading is based on a skills matrix. During competitive selections, a player will participate in a number of drills and a trial match to assess their skills. Player performance will be observed and assessed by a number of selectors.
In forming teams, Marist Hockey may also take other factors into consideration including performance in prior seasons, input from previous coaches and the spread of numbers across teams. Any queries regarding grading or requests for feedback should be directed to the Development Officer.
Team structure and playing with friends
Marist Hockey cannot take requests to play in teams with friends. Marist Hockey will determine team makeup based on the best team combinations possible with a focus on competitiveness and player development.
